I'm watching Small Town Gay Bar on Netflix, a documentary. I'm watching Fred Phelps and SHAKING with rage. It reminds me of the time I got so angry watching the Brandon Teena Story, I had to turn it off because I was going to get physically sick.

Next I will probably watch the documentary about Robert Crumb.

I love it. I cannot help it. I LOVE HOW ANGRY IT MAKES EVERYONE. Everytime I hear it, I cannot stop laughing.

Okay, it's a bit sadistic, I will admit. I hope none of you hate me now.

Tonight is Rocky Horror Picture Show with all my friends! JEN, I wish I could have borrowed your outfit! And that you could be there with me.

If ANYONE in the area wants to come, we'll be at the Harbor Theater in Muskegon, on Laketon, kind of down by the paper mill, the show is at 10:15pm.

I'm so excited! I just wish I had some Rocky Horror icons.

THE UNCAPTURED ORCHESTRA

The chubby girl is struggling speed on roller skates.

She is alone.
She is in that crazed eye.
She imagines the neighborhood friends.

Most the poets I know are fat girls on roller skates.

Few of them are in love,
but many know how to sing
the notes of the uncaptured orchestra.

I think the composer Randy Newman is like that.
I don’t think he loves L.A.
I don’t think he loves.
I don’t think I really have a friend in him.

The friends I know
who are in love
are doing something.

Love is busy magic.

Love must be magic
‘cause when my friends fall in it
they disappear.

I drove with a woman
across the mosquito creeks of Arkansas
to figure out why that was.

Looking at each other like surgeons,
daring the other to go first
I finally asked how long
she thought it would last.

She said she it didn’t matter how long,
it just mattered that it was.

I changed the subject,
told her about the lone roller skater.
I asked if she thought she had ever been kissed.
She didn’t think so.

We held still, then

a sky flush with moon
opened up like a ballroom
and her kiss broke the spine of the night
paralyzing the moment
into our skulls,
forever.

"she

slipped in

the clear soak of her

hair just washed-up

into the car and

against your mouth

boy

do you like bourbon?

moved

her fingers toward

the wheel rolled

down the windows

and started the car

you’re ill and now

she’s driving playing

with her hair

whispering

this fucking moon is

pulling

me apart too."

If you have the Starz channel, I greatly urge you to watch "Buy The Ticket"...a documentary about Hunter S Thompson.

I have always been fascinated by his writing and his life in general. Him along with Tobias Wolff have both captivated me since my teenage years. Here is an excerpt from one of his works:

"Open Letter to the Youth of our Nation"
by Hunter S. Thompson, 1955

Awake from your slumber of indolence and harken the call of the future!

Do you realize that you are rapidly becoming a doomed generation? Do you realize that the fate of the world and of generations to come rests on your shoulders? Do you realize that at any time you may be called on to protect your country and the freedom of the world from the creeping scourge of Terrorism? How can you possibly laugh in the face of the disasters which face us from all sides? Oh ignorant youth, the world is not a joyous place. The time has come for you to dispense with the frivolous pleasures of childhood and get down to honest toil until you are sixty-five. Then and only then can you relax and collect your social security and live happily until the time of your death.

Also, your insolent attitude disturbs me greatly. You have the nerve to say that you have never known what it is like to live in a secure and peaceful world; you say that the present generation has balled things up to the extent that we now face a war so terrible that the very thought of it makes hardened veterans shudder; you say that it is impossible to lay any plans for the future until you are sure you have a future. I say Nonsense! None of these things matter. If you expect a future you must carve it out in the face of these things. You also say that you must wait until after you have served your time with the service to settle down. Ridiculous! It is a man's duty to pull up stakes and serve his country at any time, then settle down again.

I say there is no excuse for a feeling of insecurity on you part; there is no excuse for Juvenile Delinquency; there is no excuse for your attitude except that you are rotten and lazy! I was never like that! I worked hard; I saved; I didn't run around and stay out late at night; I carved out my own future through hard work and virtuous living, and look at me now; a respectable and successful man.

I warn you, if you don't start now it will be too late, and the blame for the end of the world will be laid at your feet. Heed my warning, oh depraved and profligate youth; I say awake, awake, awake!

Fearfully and disgustedly yours,
John J. Righteous-Hypocrite

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now, shaping your spring. Post these instructions in your LJ along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they're listening.

1. Gregory and The Hawk "I'm Your Puppet."
2. She and Him "Your Really Got A Hold On Me." -Zooey Deschanel's new cd.
3. Gregory and The Hawk "Boats for Birds"
4. Kris Delmhorst "Hummingbird"
5. The Blow "Hey Boy"
6. Architecture in Helsinki "Wishbone"
7. Mindy Smith "Jolene"

I would REALLY like to see your responses to this, I've found a lot of new music in the last few days just from people's profile's on MySpace and on their LJ interest pages.

Isn't the moon dark too,
most of the time?

And doesn't the white page
seem unfinished

without the dark stain
of alphabets?

When God demanded light,
he didn't banish darkness.

Instead he invented
ebony and crows

and that small mole
on your left cheekbone.

Or did you mean to ask
"Why are you sad so often?"

Ask the moon.
Ask what it has witnessed.

I had to. I love this too much not to post it.

I hate the way you talk to me, and the way you cut your hair.
I hate the way you drive my car.
I hate it when you stare.
I hate your big dumb combat boots, and the way you read my mind.
I hate you so much it makes me sick; it even makes me rhyme.
I hate the way you're always right.
I hate it when you lie.
I hate it when you make me laugh, even worse when you make me cry.
I hate it when you're not around, and the fact that you didn't call.
But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you.
Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.

Two new pictures of me. Smeary mascara and blonde streaks. I actually did have a very lovely day with my family. Last night I made hot chocolate and watched E.T. I forgot how much I love that movie. And of course, my other (my first celeb g/f is Lori Petty) celeb girlfriend is in it as adorable Gertie.
